Terms of Service

Effective July 28, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Nivometra Softwares inc. (“Nivometra,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account or generating a report, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1.What we provide

Nivometra generates a site-specific estimate of the 50-year ground snow load following the federal ERDC/CRREL SR-20-1 methodology, using historical records from nearby weather stations. Coverage is limited to the lower 48 United States and Alaska, excluding states that require their own state-specific ground snow load study instead of this methodology. A report cannot be generated for a site in those states; the workspace shows which areas are affected.

A report is a software-generated statistical estimate, not a sealed or stamped engineering document. It does not constitute professional engineering advice and is not a substitute for the judgment of a licensed engineer. You are responsible for having a qualified professional review any result before it is relied on for design, construction, or permitting.

2.No engineering services

Nivometra provides software-generated statistical reference reports. We do not provide professional engineering services, structural design, site inspection, code compliance review, permit approval, construction supervision, safety certification, or stamped or sealed engineering documents.

No report, support message, email, website content, or other communication from Nivometra creates an engineer-client relationship. Nivometra is not the engineer of record for any project.

3.User and professional review

You are responsible for checking the site location, site elevation, report inputs, selected assumptions, and report output. The report depends on the information entered and the data available for the surrounding area.

Before using a report for design, permitting, construction, or any safety-related decision, you are responsible for having it reviewed by a licensed professional engineer or other qualified professional who understands the project, site conditions, and local requirements.

4.Limits of the report

A report estimates ground snow load only. It does not determine roof snow load, drift loads, sliding snow, rain-on-snow effects, exposure factors, thermal factors, importance or risk category, load combinations, structural capacity, or whether an existing or proposed structure is safe.

5.No approval guarantee

We do not guarantee that a building official, authority having jurisdiction, reviewer, insurer, lender, contractor, engineer, or any other person will accept a report. They may require different information, additional analysis, or a stamped or sealed engineering document.

6.Your account

You must provide accurate information when you register and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly at contact@nivometra.com if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

We may suspend or close an account that violates these terms or that we reasonably believe is being used to abuse the service.

7.Pricing and payment

Building and pricing a case study in the workspace is free. You pay only when you generate a report, and the price is shown before you confirm. Purchases are processed by our merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy, which is the seller of record for the transaction and handles payment, applicable taxes, and receipts. We do not store your full payment card details.

If something goes wrong with a purchase, email us at contact@nivometra.com and we will look into it. Refunds, when one is granted, are issued through Lemon Squeezy.

8.Generated reports

A generated report is saved to your account history so you can reopen, print, or download it later. The report keeps the inputs and method used at the time it was created. If your inputs change, generate a new report.

9.Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • resell, redistribute, or sublicense reports as your own data product;
  • access the service by automated means, scrape it, or attempt to overload, probe, or circumvent its security;
  • misrepresent a report as a stamped or certified engineering document; or
  • use the service in violation of any applicable law.

10.Intellectual property

The Nivometra software, branding, and report design are ours. The report you generate is yours to use and share for your own projects, subject to these terms. The underlying weather-station data is sourced from public records and is not owned by us.

11.Disclaimer of warranties

The service and every report are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or accuracy. Snow load estimates depend on the density and quality of nearby station data and may not reflect actual conditions at your site. We do not warrant that results are error-free or suitable for any particular use.

12.Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nivometra and its officers and employees will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, or for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, a report. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service or a report will not exceed the amount you paid for that report.

13.Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Nivometra harmless from any claim or demand arising out of your use of the service or a report, including its use in design, construction, or permitting decisions.

14.Changes

We may update the service or these terms over time. If we make a material change to these terms, we will update the effective date above. Your continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

15.Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec, Canada, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your information.
